Live Like Elephants

"Always be fearless. Walk like lion, talk like pigeons, live like elephants and love like an elephant child."  ~ Santosh Kalwar

This is a recent commission that I completed.
'Live Like Elephants'
was created using acrylic paint, water color pencils etc. on a 36"x36" birch panel.
I hope you enjoy seeing it come to life!

Ironing board easel will do in a pinch. ;)

  1. Stunning. Absolutely gorgeous. Their eyes look so wise and kind. Seeing the development of it is fascinating. So glad you posted all of these pics. I'm sure Fritzie was a big help...your idea man? ; 0)

    1. Thank you! :) Yes, Fritzie loves when I am on the floor... sometimes his toy is dropped into paint. That's always entertaining.

  2. So tender and beautiful! The first pictures of the yellow flowers, when they're still white, reminds me of little fairies or ballet dancers!

    1. Shelly, this painting was purchased to be given as a gift, so I made sure to take lots of photos. It was a treat for me to be able to look back over the process.:)

    1. Valeri, thanks! Birch- you too? I am in love with the deep cradled panels! My dream is to make a trip to American Easel (in Oregon) and hand pick my panels for the year. :)

  10. Jess, I really loved this. Thanks for sharing. Some of my favorite pics were of you sitting on the floor + also seeing paint on your jeans! :)

You can tell that the whole process was super happy. :)

I love the softness of the elephants + how that contrasts with the brightness, the bold, of the flowers!

    It's all very stunning!
